World's Best Apple Crisp

1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup water
1 T butter
1 tsp grated lemon zest
1 T lemon juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 T brandy
12 cups of sliced apples

In saucepan, combine sugar, water and flour, cook over med heat until clear and thick...about 6 mins

Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, cinnamon, butter and brandy pour mixture over apples, stirring to coat each slice pour into a 13 X 9 baking pan, smoothing top as best you can

Top with:

1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup cold butter

mix together till it resembles a crumbly mix, sprinkle over apples

Bake at 375 till top set and crisp and brown...about 50 mins
