Winter B-B-Q
by Irene
When the deck is knee deep in snow, I make this just for the taste of bbq.
The night before, in crock pot, put 2 to 3 lbs of any type of meat you want. I have used chuck roast, cheap pork roasts and chicken...whatever I have a taste for. I add just enough water to cover, and leave it on low over night. The next morning, take it out, remove the fat, and place the meat back into the water left after removing the fat there as well. In a skillet, brown, crumble and drain 12 oz to 1 lb of bulk sausage, again, can be any type including the low fat turkey kind. Add it to the crookpot. Add a chopped onion, some celery (what ever you like) then pour over the top about a cup or two of your favorite b-b-q sauce. Leave it on low till dinner time. Before serving, shred the meat a bit...we have this over great rolls and usually have cole slaw and french fries with it.
