Native American Fried Bread
from Auntie Bob's Attic


3 cups Flour
6 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 cups Milk

Mix everything in bowl till it forms a soft dough. Let sit for about an hour. Break off pieces, pat down slightly to form circles, making a small hole in the middle of the dough. Fry in hot oil (shortening or lard works too) until brown, turn and brown other side. Drain on paper towels (I prefer to shake mine in a bag of sugar or cinnamon/sugar and use it as a treat rather than bread)
