Cathy's Cheese Dip

1 medium - large onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 to 3/4 jar Ragu Double Cheddar Cheese Creations or 1 can of Cheddar Cheese Soup
1 2 oz. jar pimentos, drained
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
Salt to taste
Saute onion in butter until tender. Add remaining ingredients, and stir over medium heat till bubbly. Or microwave 4 to 6 minutes, stirring after every 2 minutes. Makes approx. 1 1/2 cups. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.
