Hamburger and Rice Casserole

1 pound lean ground beef
chopped green pepper (as much as you want ... also optional for those of us with picky children :))
chopped onion (optional ... as much as you like)
uncooked rice
one can of beef broth or consommé
water

I don't usually measure things when I cook ... I learned to cook from my father who is a chef, and he cooks according to taste ... so sometimes you have to experiment with how much rice works well with 2 soup cans of liquid ... I like a firmer rice, so I usually do 2 cans of liquid to one can or so of rice.

Cook rice using the can of consommé or beef broth and one can of water, instead of cooking it in water.

Brown the hamburger, onions and green peppers together. Drain as much fat off the beef as you can and make sure there is not a lot of fat left in the pan.

When rice is cooked, mix it into the pan with the ground beef and fry it a little.

Very simple, no? My 9 year old LOVES this and wants me to make it all the time :)
