This book has great recipes, memoirs and food stories. For serious cooks as well as beginners. Mouth watering...you'll want to get into the kitchen and cook after reading it!

Review: I received a copy of Joy of Cooking as a gift when I got married, and in the 15 or so years since then have read it cover to cover several times over and have used it to research unknown foods and cooking techniques countless times. It's an indespensable reference book for the cook who wants to learn more, and has many classic recipes and a surprising amount of exotic ones (would you like to know how to cook turtle?) included in the nearly 5,000 recipes that this book contains. I think it makes a great gift for anyone just setting up a kitchen as well as for the experienced cook!
